Lawrence Lessig: It seems that just about every hundred years or so, the body politic we call America swells with fever as it fights off a democracy-destroying disease. Scott Mendelson: HuffPost Review: Machete (2010)

It is a disservice to both the film and to our own desire for relevant mainstream film-making to ignore the fiery conscience at the heart of this over-the-top piece of Mexican myth-making.
